The AV-40DC is a voltage indicator that can be used to detect the presence of voltage through direct contact. It features both an audible and visual alarm, and has an operating range of 120V to 40kV for secondary and overhead voltage. The activation threshold depends on proximity to energized or grounded objects, with a minimum of 50% of the voltage rating on the selector switch.
